Bohemia, New York Aug. 25, 2006 — Data Device Corporation (DDC), a leading international supplier of high-reliability data interface products, announces the release of a device driver supporting the SCSI Fibre Channel Protocol (FCP) for its FC-75100 Series Fibre Channel Network Access Cards. The new driver, which provides support under the VxWorks real-time operating system, joins DDC’s previously-released SCSI FCP driver for Linux. In addition to SCSI FCP, DDC offers support for a host of other commonly-used protocols.

The FC-75100 series is the next generation of the DDC family of Fibre Channel Network Access Cards. Ruggedized, conduction and air-cooled versions of this series are currently deployed in military programs. With Gigabit transfer rates over a single copper or optical cable, Fibre Channel offers the advantages of greater speed and economy of weight and space in comparison to traditional parallel SCSI buses.

“From military computers and clusters, to data recorders, radar, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems…any configuration utilizing disk drives or flash memory will benefit from the ability to access these storage devices with the high speed that Fibre Channel offers,” states Ron Ethe, DDC’s High-Speed Networking Marketing Manager. “This includes systems interfacing to surveillance and reconnaissance equipment that complies with the NATO STANAG-4575 standard.”
