Data Bus & Network Soultions
DATEL, a subsidiary of DDC, was established in 1970 and has been a long time leader in providing high precision data acquisition components, including data converters, power supplies, DC-DC converters, and digital panel meters.
DDC offers proven smart power control and power conversion solutions that enable land, sea, air, and space vehicle systems the ability to control and distribute raw and conditioned power, more efficiently and reliably. Power management with DDC's Solid-State Power Controller (SSPC) solutions offer dramatic SWaP-C saving advantages over the electromechanical switches, relays, and circuit breakers they replace. DDC's power conversion and supply solutions, offering greater than 92% efficiency, provide high quality conditioned power in a space saving, reliable, and field-proven, "fit and forget" design.
PDC is a leader in high reliability motor control and synchro/resolver motion feedback solutions for defense, civil aerospace, space, and industrial applications. DDC's motor control solutions deliver high reliability postion, torque and speed control, while our synchro/resolver motion feedback solutions provide high accuracy positioning, direction and speed data for high reliability applications.
Motion Control Solutions
DDC is a leader in high reliability transformer, magnetic and cable assembly solutions for the aerospace, defense, and space industries, with Beta Transformer and North Hills brands offering field proven magnetics solutions for the most demanding environments, including extreme temperature, shock, vibration, dust, fluid, and radiation.
Transformer & Magnetic Soultions
DDC is a leading supplier of space qualified SBCs and radiation hardened components. Utilizing multiple radiation hardening techniques, DDC's space solutions incorporate one or more of the following elements: RAD-PAK® technology, Rad Hard by Design, Triple Mode Redundancy (TMR), and Error-Correction Codes (ECC). DDC's space-qualified and field proven solutions are engineered for space’s extreme environmental requirements, while reducing space, weight, and power consumption, along with total cost of ownership.
Satellites & Space Systems
DDC’s core competencies and unique suite of capabilities for the production of custom solutions span every stage of development including electrical design, mechanical design, test engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, and product assurance. DDC is uniquely qualified to support a wide range of application requirements and technologies based upon our decades of experience in analog and digital microelectronics, magnetics, power supplies, radiation mitigation technology and top quality certifications for AS9100 Rev C, ISO 9001:2008, EN9100, JIS Q9100 and through the DLA MIL-PRF-38534.
The BU-65590F/M is a multi-protocol PMC card providing new levels of performance and flexibility for systems interfacing to a MIL-STD-1553 or ARINC 429 data bus. There are up to four dual redundant MIL-STD-1553 channels operating in BC, RT, MT, or RT/MT modes. Sixteen ARINC 429 receive channels and six ARINC 429 transmit channels operate in high/low speed with automatic slew rate adjustment. The card also contains up to six digital discrete I/Os, an IRIG-B time synchronization input, two RS-422/485 Serial I/O channels, and up to two RS-232 Serial I/O Channels. The combination of multiple I/O on one card saves valuable PMC sites on host computers.
Each 1553 channel uses DDCs Extended Enhanced Mini-ACE® (E2MA) architecture which is fully backwards API compatible with DDCs industry standard, field proven, Enhanced Mini-ACE. Each 1553 channel is individually configurable as a Bus Controller (BC), Remote Terminal (RT), Bus Monitor (MT) or combined RT Monitor. The advanced BC architecture provides a high degree of flexibility and autonomy by improving message schedule control, minimizing host overhead for asynchronous message insertion, facilitating bulk data transfers, double buffering, message retry, bus switching strategies, data logging, and fault reporting. The RT architecture provides flexibility in meeting all MIL-STD-1553B protocols. The card has an intelligent hardware offload DMA architecture that dramatically reduces PCI bus and host CPU utilization while storing 1553 monitor data in a convenient and portable IRIG-106 Chapter 10 file format. Storing data in the industry standard IRIG-106 Chapter 10 file format allows DDCs cards to be used with digital flight data recorders.
Each ARINC 429 channel supports maximum data throughput on all channels while providing message scheduling, label filtering, and full error detection. Received data can be stored in either FIFO buffers or system address label mailboxes. Each channel features independent selection of data rate and parity, and automatic transmit channel slew rate adjustment. Transmit data can be sent in FIFO mode or scheduled rate mode on each transmit channel.
The card includes the MIL-STD-1553 Enhanced Mini-ACE (EMACE) Plus C Software Development Kit (SDK) and the ARINC 429 Multi-I/O C SDK with drivers for Linux, VxWorks and Windows 2000/XP, including source code samples and detailed documentation. These SDKs allow users to develop source code to simulate, monitor, or troubleshoot 1553 or ARINC 429 data buses with support for the latest versions of operating systems including VxWorks 6, Linux 2.6, and Windows 2000/XP. This SDK allows you to quickly integrate DDCs 1553 and/or 429 cards into your C source code applications. A common SDK exists across all operating systems allowing the programmer portability across different platforms. The easy-to-use high-level functions abstract all low level hardware accesses and memory allocation such that specific hardware knowledge is not required.
The BU-65590F/M is designed for harsh environments and can be used in either conduction or air-cooled applications. The card is available with front panel I/O or rear I/O. The cards rugged construction and ability to operate from -40°C to +85°C at the thermal rail make it ideal for use in flight data recorders, display applications, embedded black boxes, mission computers, and avionics labs.
