DDC opened a manufacturing plant in the Republic of Ireland in 1991 to accommodate the substantial and increasing business within the European Community. The facility, known as DDC Ireland Ltd. manufactures high-reliability hybrid integrated circuits. These complex microelectronic circuits include data converters and MIL-STD-1553 data bus devices used on various European aerospace programs such as Airbus, EFA, and Rafale.
Situated in the Cork Business and Technology Park, DDC Ireland Ltd. occupies a 25,000 square foot building. The plant includes facilities for substrate fabrication, hybrid assembly, laser trim, automatic testing, and engineering design. Since December 1993, DDC Ireland Ltd. has been certified and qualified for MIL-PRF-38534 compliant hardware. Products manufactured in Ireland are primarily for the European Community, however they are also exported to both the United States and worldwide markets.
