New Product Solutions
Rad-Hard, Latchup Immune, 16-Bit Analog-to-Digital Converters for Space

DDC introduces the 7809C, a new latch-up immune version and drop-in replacement for the widely deployed 7809A, 16-bit serial output analog-to-digital (A/D) data converter. The 7809C is single event latch-up immune and features improvements in performance, including lower power dissipation, while remaining a highly reliable and cost effective space solution.

  • Highest resolution space qualified analog-to-digital converters
  • Interfaces directly with microprocessors
  • Minimized linearity errors
  • Highest single event radiation hardness (latchup immune)

Ensuring Readiness of Parts for Space

June 2017 – High-performance computing in satellites requires the use of advanced, commercial off-the shelf (COTS) technologies in an environment that has previously been the domain of parts produced in rad-hard foundries. The challenges of this environment require careful implementation of both hardware and software techniques to produce space assets with advanced capabilities and the operational reliability.

Radiation Testing of a Flash NAND Device

March 2017 – Total ionizing dose and single event effects testing was performed on 4 Gb NAND flash die used in DDC’s 69F24G24 flash NAND devices. If the data is regularly refreshed, the devices show good resistance to corrupted bits during total dose irradiation. In the case of heavy ion irradiation, multi-bit upsets could prove problematic to some error correction schemes.
